Magnesium sulphate (Epsom salt) is an inorganic ionic compound with the chemical formula MgSO₄, composed of magnesium (Mg²⁺) and sulfate (SO₄²⁻) ions.
The name “Epsom salt” comes from mineral waters discovered in Epsom.
